Redford's project benefits Hispanic filmmakers

EMAIL | PRINT | SAVE

Oscar-winning director Robert Redford is teaming up with New Mexico to create more opportunities for Hispanic filmmakers, the New York Daily News reports.

Redford recently announced that his Utah-based Sundance Institute, which the actor founded in 1981 to help emerging filmmakers develop their craft, would work with the New Mexico Film Office to create an offshoot of his famed arts organization.

Sundance in New Mexico, a series of film and arts programs to help develop Hispanic and Native American filmmakers, will be based at Los Luceros, the historic, state-owned hacienda and complex of buildings near Espanola, N.M.
